this is in response to JordonCrandall
I quite enjoyed your observations on the discourse about the peresentation
of the web at Kassel.
eg
many potential embodiments and many access points to address, spread out
across vast geographies, and many forms of movement and orientation that do
not necessarily mobilize the situated body "parked" at the monitor
The avenue through which an interesting (multi)discourse should address the
implications of this new media with the physical. The affectations.
What are the potential creative uses of the web (self-reflexive to start)
Why is the presentation of Kassel getting the attention? (stuck in 3d)
Observations of the projects themselves.
The possibility of transnational collaborations with artists who have never
met in the physical?
The politics of the web.
The eco-reality of our current situation in this growth market epoch which
crams the internet with ENTERTAINMENT.
What can the artist activist do to potentially create cyber-graffiti
ie. clutter the corporate cyberspace with countercultural jamming
Lets rock the place(space)!
Any ideas?
