Email-petition campaign to protest against
restrictions on civil liberties in Hong Kong
I protest against the proposals in the consultation paper on Civil Liberties
and Social Order released by the Office of the Chief Executive-designate,
the gist of it being to amend the existing Public Order Ordinance and Societies
Ordinance so as to restrict the civil liberties in Hong Kong.
I object to reinstatement of draconian laws so that demonstrators have to
get permission from the Police before holding a peaceful procession, and
to register with the Police upon formation of any concern groups or
Non-Government Organisations at the mercy of the Police.
I also object to the broad definition of political organisations and prohibition
on local political organisations to receive donation from overseas individuals.

Hallo! I have go over the list of the guests a while ago, but I am a bit
disappointed. People like Jean Christopher Ammann, Harald Szeeman, Jan Hoet,
crtics Thierry de Duve, and other fields' scholars (the exception is U. Beck
and A. Huyssen) etc. names more familiar to the English (of Frankfurt School,
or even the few French philosophers who is so enthusiastic to talk about
art) speaking world are no there. Will there still be time to add some?
I have also another question for Catherine David, that is whether this idea
of inviting guests to speak is a conception inspired by Joseph Beuys F.I.U.
one hundred days at the Dokumenta previously, if so, asking her to pay a
little debt of honour to Beuys for the credit shouldn't be too much, right?

Vision und Begegnung II ist ein internationaler Kunstwettbewerb und ein online
Workshop - Kunst im offentlichen Raum. - 6000 DM sollen vergeben werden.
Es sind zwei Preise ausgeschrieben. Ziel des Wettbewerbes sind die Realisierung
von zwei Kunstwerken (Installationen, Objekte, ... alles ist möglich)
in der Stadt Halle. Jede Woche werden die besten Arbeiten ideell prämiert.
Am Ende soll auch eine Dokumentation erarbeitet werden. / „Vision &
Encounter II" is now open.
„Vision & Encounter II" is an international art-competition and
an online workshop - public art. 6000 DM total prize money. The project started
at the 12 of April 1997. There are two main-awards. At last we are going
to realize two art-works (installations, objects, ... all is possible)in
the city Halle. Every week we give one award for the best artwork of the
week. We are going to finish this project with a documentation.
